HESA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) to offer free professional training to staff members at campus health services.

The Foundation for Professional Development is registered with the Department of Education as a private institution of higher education in terms of Section 54(1)(c) of the Act and Regulation 16(4)(a) until 31 December 2010 to offer approved higher education programmes. .

These include courses and training sessions on HIV and AIDS-related issues such as TB and counselling for various categories of health workers, including administrators and facility managers, nurses, VCT counsellors and doctors.
